I am so excited !!

Fall is here …with the season upon us… time to start making those gifts of jewelry …..

I just got in a new shipment of stone beads and pearls in the shop!!

Pearls… rice, tear drop, potato…in various colors

Jasper…picture, leopard, fancy, poppy… in various sizes and shapes

Sugilite…sodalite…moonstone…garnet..onyx..unakite…tigereye.. and many more!!!!

The Ky Guild Craft fair is coming up… October 10th and 11th! Come out and find some beautiful art in a gorgeous setting…

We have new shipment of beads just in at FISH WISDOM BEADS!!

New stone pendants:  green aventurine, amethyst, rose quartz, mahogany obsidian, ocean jasper!!

 SP and GP findings: beads, ear wires (fish hook – clip on), toggles, headpins.

Ceramic beads, glass frog beads, moss agate strands, lava rock pendants and strands, agate strands.

I also got in new cabochons, which I have already started to design with. I am beading  a pendant necklace, which reminds me of space …the final frontier. I am digging it!!

Update…..  The Kentucky Artisan Center in Hindman, Kentucky is now carrying my jewelry!!

Also, save the date… Oct. 10 and 11 is the Kentucky Guild Fall Fair in Berea, kentucky. Hope to see you there.

Looking thru pictures of my work, we chose a photo of my Rose Quartz Wave Pendant, currently on display here in the shop. (It is for sale, btw)

Tink showed me how to resize it for the web and then used a nifty little program to make it look like a polaroid picture.

Next she showed me how to add it to this post. I have taken COPIOUS notes and have my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to do it on my own once she is gone!

Sometimes it is matching beads they already have…. or they are simply  looking for something new and interesting  to add to their collection….. and sometimes they just want a second opinion about if the beads work together.

We lay out the beads and  talk about the colors….texture…..size….and we may add something or take away ….. and we usually end up talking about our love of beads…

I have met some really great people here at the bead store… and I myself have learned new tricks and techniques from my customers…. I have made new friends and have old friends that I only see once or twice a year when they are passing through BEREA…..they always stop and say hi… to see if I still carry a certain bead they really loved…..or to show me new pieces they are working on…..(beads travel easy).

I have always tried to make FISH WISDOM BEADS a place where you can feel comfortable…… so come in and let’s talk about beads or whatever else comes to mind!

 I am getting a shipment of sterling silver beads and findings tomorrow… yea!!

I stopped, because I was not sure which beads I wanted to add next, ( the green iris bugles or the olive matte size 15’s ) so I put it to the side for a bit and started working on some earrings… which got  me to thinking that even though I may have a design in mind… I usually just start working and let the flow and colors of the piece , lead me to the finish.

Then Marita  walked into my shop… she told me she was visiting Berea….  we started discussing beads and jewelry design and she asked me about one of my large pieces and if I had planned the design or just started beading and just flowed with it….

This particular piece I had designed the original shape , but I  took my inspiration from the colors and shapes of the beads. Then, I told her how funny……I was just thinking about how even though I may have a design in mind , I  just go with the flow….

Then she explained that she did abstract energy portraits with chalk pastels…. she just goes with the flow…

So.. I had her do my portrait .. VERY COOL….  Imagination Flows..

So, when you visit FishWisdom Beads…  take a look at my portrait and when your picking out your beads….. let your  imagination flow!!!

I have metallic gold and silver, reds, blues, greens, yellows, iris colors (blue, purple,green).

I was excited (I am always excited when I get new beads in!!) , but I have been working alot with Rivoli’s , and just got in some new topaz 12mm, and can’t wait to use the metallic gold and pearl cream charlottes with them.

I am not sure which project they are going to go into yet, but I have some new ideas… and I am going to have some fun!
