Designing with Beads and Inspiration
Yesterday, I was working on a pendant, in which I was using these fantastic green matte seed beads…
I stopped, because I was not sure which beads I wanted to add next, ( the green iris bugles or the olive matte size 15’s ) so I put it to the side for a bit and started working on some earrings… which got me to thinking that even though I may have a design in mind… I usually just start working and let the flow and colors of the piece , lead me to the finish.
Then Marita walked into my shop… she told me she was visiting Berea…. we started discussing beads and jewelry design and she asked me about one of my large pieces and if I had planned the design or just started beading and just flowed with it….
This particular piece I had designed the original shape , but I took my inspiration from the colors and shapes of the beads. Then, I told her how funny……I was just thinking about how even though I may have a design in mind , I just go with the flow….
Then she explained that she did abstract energy portraits with chalk pastels…. she just goes with the flow…
So.. I had her do my portrait .. VERY COOL…. Imagination Flows..
